One of the best parts of the Christmas holidays is all the parties that are hosted during the season. With the parties, comes the pressure to bring your 'A' game for your wardrobe. When you have a wide variety of parties from family gatherings, to office parties, to New Years celebrations with friends, its impossible to afford a new outfit for each and get all your Christmas gifts. However, every situation has different requirements for outfits.
A family Christmas requires less formal and more conservative dress. For this situation you can generally use items from your wardrobe. Pairing a skirt with a knit sweater, or leggings and heels dresses up a normal outfit.
An office Christmas Party most likely requires something a little more formal. If your work and New Year's friends don't overlap you can get away with wearing the same dress to both events and save on both. if, however, some friends overlap, you may be able to restyle it with different shoes, jewelry, and a jacket.
One of the best parts of dressing up for the holidays is being able to wear lots of sparkles and sequins to parties! It is simple to find a sparkly dress for a decent price that looks great. and is very festive.
The Christmas season is also a time to wear a lot of black from your wardrobe. All black outfits can be classy and easy to make from different pieces of your wardrobe.
Another great idea is to share dresses with your friends. Swap them around for all of the events so you can change it up without having to spend!

Shopping Technique!
Sorry it's been so long since I've posted. It's been a busy few months. Shopping is the most important skill for anyone wanting to have great style and stay cheap. So, I have concocted a great shopping plan for if you want to save money and still keep a look that bangs! When you go shopping, go through all the stores and try stuff on but don't buy anything. This way you can compare products and distance yourself from your purchases. At the end of the day go back and buy whatever you still remember and still want. This way, your wardrobe will be memorable. :)

Blair Waldorf Inspiration
Blair Waldorf Inspiration by melanierintjema featuring christopher kane
Blair Waldorf has been one of my heroes ever scince I really started watching Gossip Girl. I'm not entirely sure why. It could be because of her scheming success, or her ability to get Chuck Bass to fall in love, or maybe just her zest for success. Whatever it is, it made me want to be her in everyway. Because I am also so into fashion, I wanted her style. Unfortunately, i soon realized that not just anyone can pull off the Blair Waldorf look. Having a mother as a desighner made her taste impeccable, and i have always admired her skill at matching so many different prints. Unfortunately, her style is very difficult to match in a cheap way... So, this is my outfit themed after Blair and her style. I'm sure there will be many more to come, even though it isn't money saving at all. Maybe next tiem I;ll attmpt to make an outfit after her that isn't pricey.

Badass Can be Classy
I have returned from my trip to Cuba! It was warm and sunny and the salt water gave my hair and instant beachy boho look that i loved :). However, now that i am back i need to get back on to posting on my blog. Thankfully, i found this site, Polyvore, that makes creating outfits much simpler and even helps with inspiration!
This outfit is themed after the leather jacket with studs. I was purusing the outerwear, and couldn't resits makeing an outfit around this piece, esspecially because i wore my own lether jacket today. I love that it has the traingle opening at the bottom, so i put a short top with it so your belly button could be seen. The ear cuff goes with the look from the studs on the jacket, and i used it because ear cuffs are begining to make an appearance in everyday fashion. The shoes i picked are there to tone the look down so it's not goth, and the cuff is included because unless you're going to a funeral, every outfit needs some colour :).
While attempting to make my first Polyvore outift, I was very happy to discover that even on this site, I could still find affordable fashion. :)

Money Saving Tip!
A big money saving tip for anyone who is trying to save thier dollars is; don't spend alot of money on workout clothing. I find that alot of people are willing to go to lululemon and spend a hundred dollars on an outfit that they're just going to sweat in. It's so much cheaper to just use old clothes like loose shirt or tanktops.

oh how we long for summer....
Today i decided to do a random post of new trends, and some of my favourite older ones. It's just a bit of a mish-mash of good things. The first things I have here is the patterened tights. These are super cute. as you can see in these two pictures, and they really add to the normally boring tight look. Both of the ones i have pictures are hearts, cause i personally love them, but there are many other patterns on the market. Esspecially at Ardenes, they have these in tons of styles for only three for ten!
The second fashion trend is, the satchel. From Indiana Jones to Flynn Rider, the satchel is infamouse in theatre, and now it is in fashion as well. This trend has been going on for a while and has been developing as it does. Recently, the brighter colours and the two straps on the front are the most common, but really, any satchel is appreciated.
The last trend is the modern day hippie. We love the hippies and their relaxed attitude to life. We love how they came up with things like evironmentalism and smoking weed, and now we even mimik their dress. There's something about the summeriness and carefreeness of their clothing that makes it only come out in the summer. So, get out your headbands, florals, and loose fitting shirts, it's gonna be a peaced out summer :).
I posted this because it's such a cute outfit! I found this on pinterest, and immediately fell in love.
I posted this because, i haven't posted anything makeup or hair on this blog yet, and those two things are pivotal to fashion. Unfortunately, they really aren't my strong point, and I'm terrible at doing them, so they interest me less. However, this hairstyle really caught my eye because it joins together two big trends, the big poof, and the braid. If i could do this, i totally would, but i don't ahve anything near the skills or the right hair type. So for those of you have the hair and the skill, here is something to try to add some edge to a formal night.
I posted this picture because it envelopes the entire reason I'm doing this blog. We will overcome this problem!
